Shared custody reaches 50.8% in divorces with children
The INE has published the Statistics of Annulments, Separations and Divorces corresponding to 2025. The shared custody It was agreed in 50.8% of divorces between couples with children, compared to 49.7% the previous year.
During 2025, 80,785 divorces were registered, 2.7% less than in 2024. 80.5% were non-contentious. These data describe the set of procedures included in the statistics; They do not predict the outcome of a specific family.
How to interpret the data
Statistics allow us to know the evolution of breakups and family organization after the divorce. The national percentage, by itself, does not determine which regime applies in an individual case.
